Discover the contemporary work of MARADI ART Marilyn Mathurin
Self-taught, instinctive and spontaneous painting is now part of my daily life... after a rewarding career filled with challenges. Here's a new one, embark on an adventure on this site and get out little by little. little anonymity.
I was born in 1957, in Niger, to a mother from Lorraine and a father from the West Indies. The influence of West Indian and African culture has, without a doubt, brought out color, my main means of expression.
The technique most often used is acrylic - my canvas, my sheet then become a space where everything is possible. I prefer not to get stuck in the reproduction of an illustration, a landscape, etc. My brushes are alive, I never know where; where they will lead me, what turn they will decide to take. They lead me through my creativity.
The first colors are delicately applied and I give free rein to the colors. my inspiration for the following blends. The contours are born, guided by this imagination which makes me advance ever further and which invites me to travel.
I’ve, at at the same time, this pleasure and this constant need to bring cheerfulness... To also be at home against the current of this current era in which I detect a lot of sadness. Life offers us so many dazzling colors, you just have to open your eyes wide.
Happy to share my art with you... thank you for this joyful ride.
