Discover the contemporary work of Marie G
I have been drawing and painting (oil, acrylic, watercolours) for about twenty years, in a figurative way : by this mean I explore in two dimensions the mutations of the body, the analogy and the confusion between the inside and the outside, between a body and another. A few years ago I began to add a third dimension to this research : volumes are made with papier-mâché, plastiline, modeling clay, epoxy and, lately, with wood (small sculptures made out of boxwood or linden wood). However, only the drawings (indian ink, colour pencil) and watercolours are presented here, which faithfully accompany my practise. By these means, I express the humanity : of which I am a spectator, to which I participate - judge and judged. A question, inexhaustible : how to be a human being ? That question is the core of my work, which is in itself an answer.
