Hi, I'm Matheu,
I started taking photos when I was about 12 years old, with a small film camera, it was like a game. It was simply a way of capturing a moment (a camping trip, a day of fishing,...)

Years later my father let me look through his reflex camera, it was like looking through a magical place with that moving needle and that little wheel with numbers.

Before I was eighteen, I learned to develop film on my own at home.

I studied I studied engineering at university and continued taking photos for many years. 

It was in 2007 that I decided to 'formally train' in photography. I first took the professional photography course at the CEF (Center for Photographic Studies) and in the following years I graduated from the School of Art and Higher Design.

Although photography is not my main profession, it is from the point of view of artistic creation.

I like to capture the spontaneity of the person in front of me, I like them to feel comfortable, just as they are, I like to think that we are creating together. I try to take a timeless photograph, with few elements and focused on the subject I am working with.
