Narrative Potential

True to a narrative aesthetic, MChartrie reproduces places, moments, current events, characters, animals that cross her life. Her work echoes the narrative potential of any story, nourished by remembered situations and intuitions. "I give space to a discourse, inspired by facts or not." Without a draft of a drawing, she works mainly with oil colors, but also acrylic and oil pastel with the brush by superimposing layers of materials on paper, cardboard or canvas. The juxtaposition of ardent tones testifies to her experience as a colorist. “Green and blue are the link of observation of the nature that surrounds us, red, underlines good feelings, a simple impression in emotion. ” On large format, the artist does not respect the rules of perspective. She disarticulates logical relationships and draws her mental landscape to colonize the space of her realities-fictions. Disguised or diverted, the scene escapes the stereotypes of readability of the symbolic decor, overflowing and carrying the motif into another dimension.
