I started by drawing bodies and “theater” clothing; in class... Then bodies and characters in theater class with pencils, bic pens, whatever came to hand, I had a period where I was fascinated by it. by the movements of the hair so I drew with colored pencils (but one color at a time) to bring out the hairstyle or the eyes of my characters, often female, often engaged, newlywed or pregnant.
Over time, the solo characters became a duo then a crowd, the hair remained but the looks were gone and the faces only had shadows or masks, I moved on to more characters. Indian ink or black fine-tip felt-tip pen.
In 1993, an elder from the Conservatoire de Créteil asks me for permission to use two of my drawings for a theater poster in which he plays: a body and a head-mask and the montage will be submitted to the Conservatoire de Créteil. à INPI. He will then make the link for me with a Youth and Culture Center where I will exhibit my monochrome drawings for the first time.
Then, I will wait until 2016 before exhibiting again, this time my paintings, acrylics, on canvas. My style is the same, the themes are somewhat developed with the maturity of my career. : maternity, femininity, the Mask, the Link, fatigue, appeasement, self-portrait... non-realistic, expressive and emotional, my painting under a somewhat naive shape is round and more tortured than one might think.
Like the clown under his red nose, she has difficulty concealing her seriousness. and fragility of being.
I put in images, painting, drawings or collages what I cannot put in poetry, theater or song because for certain emotions words are not enough.
My characters don't necessarily have a face because it could be you, your mother, your brother, a stranger or a friend. The only faces that I detail are those of the masks that we wear... because I pay particular attention to these, either because I distrust them, or because they interest me as an artistic and societal symbol.
On my acrylic painting, I sometimes like to add several levels (two representations) and often few colors. I haven't strayed too far from the features of my teenage drawings from 1993...
