I experiment with the notion of Time, of Feeling, with the intention of highlighting feminine identity in a clear and accessible way.
I paint female historical figures in a fairly classic way. I don't invent but transcribe; the person, the subject is chosen in collusion with the person requesting the project.
I then choose a colorful environment and emphasize the gaze with a contrasting layer at eye level. Like a flash of neon light that catches the eye, provokes, and forces discussion.
