Né à Dakar, Mouhamadou Moustapha DIOP alias is a young photographer, painter and videographer, graduated from from the National School of Arts of Senegal. He also continued his studies in web design and community management in France where he studied web design and community management. he has been living since 2018. His work has been the subject of numerous exhibitions in Paris. throughout the world (Dakar, Abuja, Paris, Brussels, Düsseldorf, Rennes, etc...).
He is also known for his videos, presented at the Dakar Biennale in 2018 (Senegal pavilion), among others…
A great explorer of stained or cracked walls that he worked on tirelessly, in his former life as a building painter, Mouhamadou is a fan of talkative walls.
It’s as if he’s born in the world. “ in» graffiti, caught up in by the age of technology and over-communication. He is « caught in the game »… He becomes an attentive observer of his time, sensitive to the various issues that affect the lives of his contemporaries.
His works evoke his own journeys as an artist in the public space. He stages an identity of his own. extraordinary, which is only possible through strong physical and mental commitment. Transgression, risk-taking, adventure condition his creative process. It is a quest for social recognition, also governed by a “code of honor”. Pathways that term give birth to challenging works, sometimes disturbing but which rarely leave one indifferent.
As a visual artist, he sees walls as a medium for humanity, a silent lung that inspires urbanity. and expires the imprint of the past. Mirror walls, abyss images, graffiti palimpsests: all these signs dialogue with other forms of expression.
The artist explores territories and limits, he borrows their vocabulary and makes reference to space, movement, even the time necessary to achieve this. the completion of the transformation process the work.
