Marina Losa aka Ninichronic was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1985, in a family of artists. She bathed in the world of creative processes in his grandmother's workshop from a very young age. She naturally developed there. its sensitivity à art, color, and different forms of expression and techniques during his childhood. This is by moving to Paris with his family in 1996 when his life took a decisive turn by adapting to the world. his other culture and by learning what will become his other mother tongue, French, which open the doors to what is today his activity. photo/graphic.

After obtaining her diploma in advertising graphics in 2007 and a refreshing trip to Argentina in 2008, she started in 2009 as an iconographer in a fashion/lifestyle photo agency based in Paris. Paris, with which she travels to New York, London and Milan to cover fashion weeks for the international press. In parallel with this activity, she co-created a digital communications agency focused on gastronomy/spirits. After 7 years of agency management, and upon returning from her first adventure trip/photographic and cultural project in Nepal, she launched herself in 2015 as a freelance digital photographic editor. The biggest luxury brands and international photographers entrust him with their photos and their needs in terms of real-time image management, which allows him to develop a tailor-made post-production service in order to lead to professional results. well their publication projects. She also works enthusiastically with her parents and collaborators by photographing their various projects in the cultural and hospital sectors.

In 2021, post-pandemic, she decides to slow down and naturally returns to normal. its sources by resuming an activity purely artistic, on the fringes of the image standards with which she and other graphic designers of her generation are confronted, while having as little recourse to digital tools as possible, in order to counteract the massive overproduction and the bulimic consumption of images which the companyé is subject to every moment of his daily life. A sort of questioning of the system in which professionals in the sector operate. An intention to escape from the “tyranny of perfection“ (Cit. Erik Kessels “Perfect imperfections”), and the speed of execution imposed notably by the emergence of the phenomenon of generative artificial intelligence, and thus take “painting as an act of resistance” (Quote. Carole Fives “Tébenthine”).

Her graphic inspirations come mainly from introspections and therefore naturally take up the codes of her grandmother Chichita, who had a considerable imprint on her when she was a child and which come back to her naturally, this way ; to which she added his touch by using his favorite colors which are the mixture of acrylic, ink and fluorescent pigments contrasting with a secret mixture of several types of black in order to work as much as possible on the contrasts, all illuminated by UV neons. Since her adolescence, she has immersed herself in the psychedelic universe of Trance GOA electronic music which uses these same colors and illumination to transmit these spiritual values in a playful way. In this sense, she made several trips to Nepal, Argentina, her native land, and India, notably to Goa where she was able to soak up these bursts of color.

Artistic approach

My artistic approach reappeared following the feeling of lack that I felt when I realized that my activity Graphics was based mainly on computer-assisted creation and execution. While continuing my path as an iconographic editor, I began to create images. à succumb to the desire to return to life manual creation, particularly with the use of acrylic paint. My goal was to complement my digital work with a digital activity. freer, calm, which would not be subject to the limits imposed by the sector nor to direct external influences.

I wanted to go and see, through introspection, what was out there. inside me that wanted to manifest itself. My parallel, seasonal and remote work, as well as the confinements at home. rehearsal between 2021 and 2022 put me on this path. I had the chance to rent what was my workshop, in September 2021, where I initially reconnected with my personal and unacknowledged tastes, trying to overcome all fear, self-judgment and perfectionism, to arrive at what I wanted. a result that already exists I would like to show. With the help of a few people around me at that time, I managed to achieve this goal. set up a creative routine.

I rediscovered the joy of creating with my own hands, the effect of feeling the fluid material of acrylic, the volatility of acrylic. and power of fluorescent color pigments, the tracing of fine lines with real brushes on a physical support, the observation of the tracing of which adapts to the texture of its support, whether rough or smooth, the observation of the colors and the work itself which is gradually revealed, gradually. to which the mind has no choice but to adapt. The contrast created by the presence of a deep black with the traces and figurative or abstract shapes of colors, and the discovery of the result from a different angle which is its ;lighting black light, are all effects that never cease to surprise me. The magic happens when the lighting changes. After a year and a half of relentless practice and alternation with my digital work, I felt a deep satisfaction with the progress I had made. The alliance of the two was a real success. My skills in photography and digital post-production were finally brought into play. my passion for manual creation. So it seemed to me Obviously I wanted to continue in this direction, and contemplate the results over time. come. The need for to explain and structure this project therefore naturally manifested itself.

During my search for a title or at least a concept to explain this unusual experience to which I had just indulged in all this time, two words popped up in my head: "default mode", a concept which made me think more of something computer-related. So I Googled it. these terms, and, anticipating results related to the computer, I fell to my big surprise on neuroscience articles explaining this phenomenon:
“In the brain, the “ default mode » is the one that activates when we give free rein to what is happening. his thoughts” (...)“As paradoxical as it may seem, the brain at rest is a very active brain. What are the “resting networks” ? These are simply brain regions that activate synchronously when you let your thoughts flow freely, without interaction with your environment.” Cit CNRS Biology
“The default mode network (MPD) designates, in neuroscience, a network made up of brain regions that are active when an individual is not focused on the outside world, and when the brain is at rest, but active” ,“The MPD could enable introspection.” Cit Wikipedia.
It amused me to compare it with my personal experience and to play on words to begin this new adventure, and to begin to understand what it was like. share this passion that inhabits me.
