Self-taught wood sculptor, driven by a deep passion for the transformation of old and reclaimed wood, especially oak. Although still unknown to the general public, I devote my time to exploring the multiple possibilities offered by this noble material, I often recover old structures or trees that have crossed the ages. Without academic training, I taught myself to master the art of wood carving. I have an approach that is both respectful and innovative to the material. Each piece of old wood that I use already carries a story, and I seek to extend this memory through my sculptures. I also use a technique that particularly fascinates me: wood burning, inspired by the "Shou Sugi Ban", an ancient Japanese art. By delicately burning the surface of the wood, I reveal unique textures and contrasts, where the depth of the black of the charred wood highlights the natural and raw beauty of the oak fibers. This process gives my sculptures a visual force and a tactile dimension that captivate the eye and the imagination.
Today I devote myself entirely to this artistic quest, transforming pieces of salvaged wood into works that carry within them the force of time and the imprint of fire. Each sculpture is a unique creation, although I am unknown, I continue to perfect my art in the intimacy of my workshop, convinced that old wood still has much to reveal to those who take the time to listen to it.
