My signature, Odessa, not only represents my first name, but it is also a way to evoke feelings, memories and emotions associated with my name. this first name chosen by my parents. Finally, the triangle that accompanies my signature symbolizes the strength that cannot be broken. The equilateral triangle is often considered to be an equilateral triangle. as a symbol of stability, balance and solidity, thus representing harmony and cohesion between complementary elements or forces. I add to this inside this triangle, gilding paint symbolizing for me two great ideas: light and spiritual wealth.
My art focuses on creating paintings using mainly recycled wooden boards. But I also use other recycled materials such as road signs, bowling pins, and many other materials that already have a useful life. lived before arriving in my hands. I adopt an ecological approach by giving a second life to my products. these recovered materials, thus contributing to their revaluation while using a natural material for wood for example.
The characters I use in my art are inspired by pop culture, with colorful references that take me back to life. childhood memories. These images, familiar to everyone, a wide audience, serve to bring together around universal models, acting as a mirror of our society. and of my generation.
There are several techniques that I like. Whether it is hatching/pointillism, which I learned in my youth, or even dripping, these methods allow me to create unique and original effects. They refer me to my numerous internships, as a child, at the contemporary art center where I I liked reproducing the different artists’ techniques that were on display.
Hatching, a technique I learned in my youth, gives visually interesting results and adds texture and depth to your work. my paintings. These are small crosses that come together to create a single image. This technique can require hours and hours of careful work.
The art of nails, as I like to Calling it, is a method that I like to use for the patience and precision that must be demonstrated. This innovation which is the fact of using nails to reform an image, embellish with engraving at the same time. the dremel, allows you to give relief to; my paintings.
Dripping is also a method that I like for the background of my paintings. Thanks to paintbrushes, brushes, or spray paints, I can give free rein to my work. my freedom expression, my creativity and my gestures filled with energy and emotions.
In summary, my artistic approach is part of an ecological approach using recycled materials, featuring characters from pop culture to bring together and reflect our society. I explore different techniques such as hatching, nail art and projected paint to create original paintings full of energy and emotion .
