Discover the contemporary work of Olivia Vitali
My name is Olivia, I am a French artist who grew up in Paris.
Since I was little I have been amazed by paintings inspired by ancestral arts: mythological paintings, Renaissance Art, and so many others. I took drawing/painting classes for several years from the age of 10 with the artist Jean-Luc Toledo. During this apprenticeship I did several exhibitions and received some awards for my work. Enriched by this experience, I started to my account in 2021. In my professional career, I had the chance to create murals on large surfaces, often in the sports field. I was able to exhibit in Paris for UNESCO, on the occasion of a charity opening. I followed the path of exhibitions, in search of new exhibition venues, a new art-loving public, new artists with whom to share.
I have the ambition to make my Art known to everyone and to go beyond the borders of France.
I like to experiment and study the fractures that can exist and coexist in the different movements. They carry within them divergent but not incompatible DNA. Marriages are possible and ancient arts inspire contemporary art, such as street art or abstract art.
Each movement breathes inspirations and these inspirations turn into major influences for the artist.
I tell myself that as an artist I am free to compose my own puzzle using pieces that are sometimes opposite, sometimes very related, sometimes forgotten or very familiar.
My paintings draw their source from Renaissance art, mythological figures once represented, sculptures built on legends, myths or prophecies. But I want to include them in my time by bringing back or summoning touches of Modern Art, sometimes taken from the abstract branch.
I like to travel in the world of dreams, create the unexpected, provoke poetic contrasts, and make the past vibrate in our present.
