I am a Beninese artist who has been living in France for about twenty years. I grew up in Benin before moving to France as a teenager, where I currently reside. Since childhood, I have been passionate about visual art, although I did not receive a formal artistic education, despite having parents who were designers and a father who was an architect. I started to drawing alone in my school notebooks, then I continued with self-taught illustration after high school.
Later, I became interested in photography and video. Later, I discovered printmaking and linocutting from a master engraver/printer, who unfortunately passed away shortly after. I had the opportunity to practice in his workshops, learning the techniques of etching, burin and linocutting for two years. It was after a click that I began to paint intensely. It has been three years now that I have had my own studio, where I can take the time to imagine, create and participate in exhibitions, while gradually becoming more professional.
As a multidisciplinary artist, I consider art first and foremost as a form of therapy and a means of understanding human nature, which is the core of my work. I am interested in the relationships that individuals have with their environment and with others. Through a variety of styles and techniques, I explore emotions and sensations, seeking to detect beauty in life's moments.
