Discover the contemporary work of Philippe Fournet RAKU
In contact with the earth for over 40 years, even if I have not made it my main job, the passion is still there, every morning.
First contact with working with clay in 1972 during an internship in Collonges-la-Rouge, where I discovered all the possibilities that the earth offers. Throughout my travels I have continued to learn and evolve.
From internships to classes, I am mastering modeling then throwing, touch and the finesse of ancestral gestures. In 2005, I joined the workshop “rêver la terre”, a FREE WORKSHOP of pottery and Raku-yaki ceramics in Paris.
In the workshop “rêver la terre” of Olivier Oet in Paris, I practice modeling, throwing and all the techniques of ceramics and Raku-yaki.
After a busy professional career, the passion for clay being stronger than anything, I decided in 2019 to devote myself fully and entirely to my passion: Raku ceramics. I then moved into a workshop shared with different artists in Anglet.
In 2021, moving near the Port of Anglet, in my own space, « Ateliers Des Terres Libres » was born.
This large workshop has since allowed me to welcome with happiness and good humor and to share with as many people as possible, beginners or enthusiasts, in the best conditions, my passion and the happiness of creativity and Raku.

My recent research led me to create and develop Raku sandstone surf fins, for which I have registered the models and concept.
Since then, between exhibitions, I have been at the Ateliers Des Terres Libres, where I create, evolve and transmit a desire of sharing, of meetings, of artists and of dreams...
