The rugby series pays tribute to men, all rugby players: here, no star portraits. The star is the player, all the players, starting with the most obscure yet driven by the same passion every Sunday. No really identifiable jersey. No or few faces. Sometimes the player is even completely off-screen, and that is why everyone can enter into the story that the painting tells us. From the locker rooms to the the try and the transformation through the tackle or the pass, Pierre ROUANNE seeks to; make us experience or relive the emotions of a great sport of combat and movement.
Other themes complete this work. First of all, they are landscapes of Lauragais, most of the time revealed in fragments, in a tight framing. which invites the observer to imagination. Sections of ancient walls reveal their true nature to us. by layers, often open to a nature which reclaims its rights over the history of man. Eclectic, Pierre ROUANNE is equally interested in animal painting with realistic scenes but that photography would have difficulty achieving this. to input. The nude and the still life also have their place in this work, because what motivates the painter is above all the emotion of a vision, of an image within delà of what she says.

If the style is resolutely classic, the Pop Art and Hyperrealist influences are evident in the choice of framing, the use of large plates and the breakdown of colors. Each of my paintings tries to tell you a story
