Born in Tarbes, in the Hautes-Pyrénées (65), Rachel SAYOUS, her real name, has been painting and drawing since her early childhood.
After a few years of studying economics and business management (her father wanted a security diploma), and simultaneously at the Tarbes School of Arts, she chose to live off her passion, and became a professional painter at at the age of 22, punctuating exhibitions, fairs and art galleries all over France.
Sometimes fiery, sometimes serene and gentle, RACHEL's painting vibrates with a warm, passionate atmosphere, reflecting her love for Life. Adoring Nature, she likes to translate its very essence, without worrying about the reality of the details. A colorist at heart, a supporter of instinctive and intuitive painting, she skillfully handles the painting knife with her left hand, in a powerful gesture. She never ceases to search for beauty, truth, authenticity, and thus chooses the path of progress and constant evolution.
Harmony reigns in her paintings. There are colors like feelings. They become transmission of energy, equitable: "good" for the artist, as for the public. Each, with his sensitivity, draws from it the energy he needs.
His own strength? Pure landscapes, seascapes, which rub shoulders with bouquets and flower beds, with corollas of Poppies, indelible imprint of her paintings. The Poppy is therefore her favorite subject, with its madder-colored dress, the star of children's bouquets. A fragile and ephemeral flower, it resembles it so much, with its wild and libertarian spirit.
Her creations are as many poems, like small windows open on new worlds, conducive to the imagination. RACHEL is like her painting, generous, full of kindness. She is a deep, endearing and human being.
