Born in Hong Kong and lulled by the pencil from a very young age, Rachel Wong transformed her work. his innate love drawing at the start of a promising artistic career. À At the age of two, she moved to New York. à Paris, thus becoming Parisian at heart and soul. Rachel continued her studies in architecture at at ENSA Paris Val-de-Seine, refining his talent for artistic creation and integrating art and drawing into his daily life.
From middle school, Rachel's scrap sheets were canvases on which she let her imagination express itself. In high school, she introduced "swarmers" in his drawings, these characters which reveal the scale in architectural drawing. His artistic journey has been enriched by participating in a one-year exchange at the Tianjin School of Architecture, delving deep into its original Chinese culture.
His varied influences include architectural drawings, city plans, traditional Chinese shanshui 山水 paintings, the surrealist imagination of Magritte and the pastel tones of Monet. Today, she describes her works as "visual poetry", composed by characters in landscapes, figurative but not realistic drawings, offering two distinct readings depending on the proximity of the viewer. She believes in the universe and every sign of life, finding her inspiration in natural landscapes, mountains and waters, stars, the moon, rainbows and bamboo.
His preferred medium is the watercolor pencil. paper, capable of delicately fading or marking more intensely, as well as the fine felt pen accompanied by watercolor. Pastel colors, soft and poetic, permeate his creations, guided by his emotions and inspired by real or imaginary landscapes, love stories and moments of life lived.
