My canvas is experience. Up and down, across, bifurcation? It's sinuous, knotty, immeasurable, irregular, indefinite, vague. I affirm, my experience is painting.
The fracture, the brokenness, that which gives way, from the gross to the subtle, from the dimensional to the à non-dimension, visible, invisible, everything rises, everything resurfaces from an imaginary chaos. The visible and the invisible.
No strange or known shapes, no reflection, rather a detour through gesture. Isn’t the fair representation of reality the object of my research? A reality which obviously takes liberties: shapes, colors, contingencies of matter, resistance of all kinds, beyond that. the recognizable, a prism of vision which will bend everything, in this case, this famous expected figuration.
The abstraction is in the head of the viewer, not in the work. The "watcher" is able to à abstract himself from what he doesn't look at. He keeps what interests him. If the table does not “represent” nothing known (a face, a landscape, a portrait, etc.), he often neglects it.
So, I recommend that he understand my gestural expressionist work, not as a reassuring object of aesthetic contemplation (or not reassuring at all), but as a sensory exploration with a wide range of possibilities. like a weather map which gives the state of the atmosphere.
It is through the senses that we enter into reality. This is how my reality presents itself, simply, as it is.
