Discover the contemporary work of Regi Reich
I was born in Berlin in 1961. I grew up in a village. I am closely connected to nature. Forests, water, the fragrant green of the meadows have shaped me.
I started painting when I was in kindergarten. My father passed this gift on to me and showed me the basics.
In my professional life as a teacher, I was only able to pass on my skills to a limited extent.
At 59, my depression got so bad that I was no longer able to work.
That's when I started painting again.
my first pictures were black on black.
I could only concentrate for 10 minutes. Then the energy was gone. But I didn't give up. A little bit every day.
Painting still calms me down today. After 3 years, the pictures are often much friendlier.
I process my life.
The love of nature and the wonder of nature move me again and again.
Portraying interesting faces is a special challenge for me. Making the expression clear and discovering the background of every facade is a great need for me.
Portraying life but also death moves me again and again.
