Born in 1977, I am a graffiti and visual artist, passionate about the visual arts since a young age. Self-taught, my career was then enriched by training in applied arts and visual communication, as well as at the École des Beaux-Arts de Lyon.
My work explores the intersection of calligraphy and graffiti, blending graphic traditions with contemporary urban influences. I have developed a unique style of 3D lettering, incorporating elements of futuristic architecture. This research is highlighted in my book Calligraffer (KS edition, 2022), a retrospective of my creations from 1999 to 2022.
My artistic approach unfolds across a wide variety of media and techniques: paper, sculpture, painting, photography, installation, and lightpainting. This latter discipline, at the heart of my practice, has given rise to two books: Light Graff (Graff It Productions, 2007) and Free-Hand’z Lightpainting (2012), retracing more than ten years of artistic experimentation.
My creative process is based on a dynamic of cross-exploration. Each technique nourishes the others: my research on light effects in lightpainting inspires my frescoes and graffiti, while my sculpted works influence my paintings. I also use versatile materials like Dibond aluminum, which I work with for my photographic prints, sculptures, and hybrid canvases, which truly bridge the gap between painting and sculpture.
Recycling and salvage play a key role in my practice. I incorporate everyday objects, like pieces of plastic, which become both stencils for my frescoes and tools for painting with light in my photographs.
My artistic universe unfolds in an approach that is both urban and experimental. As a regular graffiti artist, I favor exploring unusual places, highlighting urban textures, and creating in situ. My work is exhibited in personal projects and group exhibitions, always guided by the desire to push the boundaries of mediums and offer a renewed vision of the artistic gesture.
