My name is Roxane Godrie, known as ROX.

My life has taken me to travel: I was born in 1987 in La Trinité in Martinique, it was on a boat that I took my first steps. Then back in mainland France, my childhood was divided between the contours of the Mediterranean and Savoy.

Finally, after a long stay in the city of Lyon, I decided to unfold with all my creative desire, in the Doubs, and more precisely, in its natural and artistic lands that make up the Loue valley.

My artistic career began very early, from the high school of Mûtiers, with already some exhibitions of my first sketches in Aime and Seez in Savoie.

After a degree in Marketing of Cultural Products, in Annecy, I joined the art center «Spacejunk» in Lyon where I participated exhibition installations, cultural event organizations and fundraising for the center.

The opportunity to participate in evening classes at the Beaux-Arts de Lyon and to exhibit at the "Menuiserie" in Croix-Rousse, as well as in a group, by participating twice in the «Petit Marché d’Art Contemporain» at the Galerie VisioSfeir in Les Pentes.

Later, it was in Besançon that I continued evening classes at the ISBA, while working at the Grand Besançon media library.

Finally, today it is as an independent visual artist that I intend to express all my artistic sensitivity.

Having been drawing and painting for over 15 years, I work on canvases and papers of various sizes, with a preference for large and medium formats.

I use acrylic, ink, charcoal or oil pastels as mediums.

I would define my style as free figuration, working with colour, contrast and movement.

We find this prism in my creative approach, in the search for and amplification of the brushstroke, in flat tints, or through the composition of colours and different techniques.

This sensitive, allowing me to highlight disparities, movement and contours in my works.

My approach revolves around contrast, mutation and limits, addressing the themes of imprint, body, identity and place.
