Born in Grenoble in 1947Classic studies in France (literature and philosophy)Came to live in Switzerland in 1968 and settled on the banks of the Lake of Geneva Attended various courses in Academic drawing, watercolour and painting on wood.Learnt acrylic painting in an art school in Lausanne for 4 years.Has taken part regularly in various exhibitions in Switzerland , France ,Austria ,and Italy since 1992Will paint on any material and will use different technics ( pastel, collage , acrylic and gold leaves) and lays on the material she is working on different thin or thicker layers of transparent colours.Her painting are definitely abstract and mainly show strength and rigorous construction . It all leads to a work that is carefully thought out as well as led with rigour and constancy. None the less the poetical dimension of the work is never neglected . Anne Schnider prefers suggesting to reproducing the actual object. Her work is an invitation to a world of dreams through its juxtaposition of colours, of light effects, its transparency, of matters .Colour, different mediums and minerals employed and laid out in successive layers lead to a compositionwhich is a quest for harmony and beauty .Her paintings now are in many private collections .Anne Schnider’s paintings invites us to go through the looking glass of appearances. There is something else to be seen beyond what you see at first sight.
