I arrived in France in the 70s, at the age of 21, I am Franco-Uruguayan, born in Montevideo, Uruguay, on December 20, 1953. In 1983 I acquired French nationality. I lived in Paris for several decades (1976-2016 where I worked as a lecturer at the University. In 2005 I took a leave of absence, retrained and shortly after I devoted myself to painting.
After a 6-year stay in Barcelona, I returned to France and have been living in Montpellier since July 2023.
Between 2020 and 2023 I made several stays in Buenos Aires.
As a visual artist, I am self-taught, although I have attended several workshops in Paris and Barcelona. Painting entered my life replacing literature as an artistic expression. In fact, I am also the author of several narrative works in Spanish that I wrote between 1981 and 2010. My narrative work has been published entirely in Uruguay and one of my novels ( Grand café) has been translated into French and published by Terre de Brume editions in 2003). I have won several awards in this field, in Uruguay and Spain.
I have participated in several exhibitions since 2022, in France, Argentina and Spain.
Through my abstract pictorial works, I seek the expression of something that, at first glance, is hidden and that I do not know. Emotion and meaning unfold little by little under the brushes moved by an instinctive gesture and by chance and structured by an aesthetic concern that passes through the balance of colors and shapes.
My greatest joy is not necessarily when the spectator arrives at the same conclusion as me but when he finds his own emotion, his own meaning, and therefore when he is sincerely touched.
My works are made at acrylic and I very often use mixed techniques.
