Discover the contemporary work of sophie Luline ceramiste
Ceramics was a revelation for me. Today, I express my desires for water and nature by shaping stoneware and porcelain pieces.
My career, largely self-taught, is punctuated by fine arts courses in drawing and painting and ceramics, and by encounters.
It is in my workshop that I have conducted and still conduct my experiments to refine a very personal style.
Today, a Master Craftsman of Art, my pieces delight collectors everywhere. international.
I work with interior designers, on commission for prestigious places such as the Ponan ships.
"The magic of nature, the intelligence of the earth, the spirit of the hand."
Sophie lets herself be carried away by nature
Of earth, water and fire, Sophie Luline's creations speak to us of our relationship with nature. Of a rediscovered relationship, of an intimacy that we should never have lost. And she takes us by the hand, presents us with her vision: anchored in figuration and yet so dreamlike. As if there were no boundary between the real and the imaginary. So we observe her flowers, her corals or her trees, and we let ourselves be carried away... like her...
At the beginning, Sophie Luline was fascinated by water in all its forms. The life of water, life in water, life and images in water. And then, over time, she let herself be carried away by the current, she found the earth again, and her universe became more vegetal. Today, she creates in balance: aquatic and vegetal alternate and intermingle on a plural and welcoming scene, where Humans have their place.
Sophie lets herself be carried away by her nature
While her creations can sometimes be described as “baroque”, making lines intersect, shapes multiply and volumes blossom, Sophie Luline seeks simplicity of gesture. She gets rid of her tools to stick to the bare minimum: a rolling mill, a knife, a roughing block. She puts her hand to the honor, leaving her mark on the object, and breathes the movement of life. Her gestural technique opens the way to spontaneity.
In more than 10 years, Sophie's shelves have been enriched with numerous collections. In the silence of her workshop, she continues to explore her inner world.
