Discover the contemporary work of Stéphane BOUDON

My past career has nothing to do with photography...
Wanderlust is a term of German origin that literally means “desire to travel” or “desire to leave”. It describes a deep desire or an irresistible thirst to discover the world, to explore new horizons and to venture into the unknown but does not translate into French... Like "saudade" in Portuguese there are untranslatable words.
After years of dissecting science, technology and innovation among other materialities, I now dedicate my time to "Wanderlust" which is not only an action (traveling), but also an inner attitude that values exploration, curiosity and openness to the world. Imitating Goethe who considered travel as an essential means to deepen one's understanding of the world and oneself. Goethe was also a passionate amateur scientist, and his explorations were often motivated by curiosity intellectual, especially in botany, geology and meteorology.
In some of his poems, such as "Über allen Gipfeln ist Ruh" (On the top of every hill there is rest), Goethe captures a kind of contemplative melancholy that resonates with the Wanderlust. This desire to travel is often accompanied by a quest for appeasement or meaning in the infinity of the world.
More modestly, I try to do this through photography.
