BIOGRAPHY OF Talato TEBDA

  1. WHO IS AGNES TEBDA?

Agnès TEBDA is a professional seamstress and lives in Ouagadougou. Her means of expression lie between sewing, painting and drawing. Her passion in the field of painting dates back to 2013, when the artist decided to try her hand at through recycled objects.

Her participation in the festival “Mur Mur” was a better moment of meeting and exchange with other artists. In her research work Agnès creates forms and levels of expression resulting from the encounter of grass on fabric and other materials, it is the strength of the artist to know how to capture these moments.

Her works are a permanent quest for balance. A dynamic balance meeting point of the forces that surround you where cross us.

Her works are a permanent quest for balance. A dynamic balance, the meeting point of the forces that surround us or cross us. Our world is a world without limits. Her artistic approach leads her to seek forms and other materials to say how she feels things daily. In an increasingly multipolar world, the role of women in art and culture is without context preponderant. She is on all the construction sites of life including the plastic arts.

The woman is a great symbol of perpetuity and generations follow one another without end. Despite wind and tide, her love is limitless. This is what the artist paints every day through forms that come from her imagination and inspiration and her daily life. Her very often colorful works speak of the daily life of women: women, mothers of dialogue and resilience, women, cradles of exchanges and encounters, women, mothers of struggles and emancipation, women of legends and history, women, witnesses to the contradictions of humanity and struggles. The artist offers in her approach geometric forms that are often imperfect, joys in society, pain too. She then specialized in the use of plant fibers, which are very present in many of her paintings. These bring the earthy, natural aspect of a painting related to contemporary, raw art. This is how the artist proceeds in her artistic approach.

She has participated in the following exhibitions, internships and training:
