Discover the contemporary work of Thierry Villers
Thierry Villers was born in 1971 in Pas-de-Calais (France). A self-taught artist, he has been interested in portraiture since childhood. His passion for drawing comes from the comics he read in his youth.
Thierry Villers was later able to perfect his art by joining the Ecole Universelle in Paris, where he studied the technique of the great classical painters. A versatile artist, he experiments with countless techniques, from pastel to ink to acrylic painting.
Thierry Villers participated in numerous exhibitions, both solo and in groups, and today shares his solid knowledge in associative and educational workshops.
Fascinated by faces from a very early age, I try to translate the capture of the gaze and expression through artistic mediums. The fact of being able, through the stroke of a brush, a pencil or a pastel, to give the illusion of realism, of the tangible is a real quest. Torn between hyperrealism and a certain minimalism in the representation, I try to include in my portraits what the model makes me feel.
