Discover the contemporary work of Tito
Born in Toulouse in the early 90s, he grew up in the Saint-Cyprien district on the left bank of the Garonne.
A chemist by training, he fled laboratories and industry in 2014 to work as a salesman at FNAC, where he discovered the range of light capture tools and used the knowledge he acquired to train himself.
In 2015, he met Etienne Ruggeri, who then did an internship at Studio le Carré. He learned his trade there for two summer months.
And it was at the beginning of 2016 that he brought Studio le Carré back from Lyon to Toulouse, which was also in his native district, Saint-Cyprien.
He experimented with street photography for the first time in 2018 and then had the idea of creating an Instagram account called “Toulouse Street Photography”.
What street photography inspires him is quite personal, the idea of having characters in an original posture, in a known but often unrecognizable environment. He sometimes likes to say: “Trying to recognize places in photos is a real treasure hunt!”
He often finds himself playing with exposure differences during sunny weather, he tries to compose differently with “flat” lights by playing with colors, shapes, “faces”…
Details are of great importance, in terms of composition, he likes to exclude secondary elements instead of including them in his shots.
For him, even a pair of feet can become graphic or touching.
Minimalism and graphic rendering are his thing; without putting too much information, each part is chosen meticulously.
There are several ways to take street photos:
- The expected street photo, the photographer chooses a frame (based on a shape, a light, or other) in which he will wait for the right person chosen for their originality or by the action they perform
- The “get inside” street photo where the photographer enters the circle close to his subject to photograph them up close. Sometimes done with a flash to “freeze”.
- Superposition, 1+1=1! Use an object in the foreground to superimpose it in perspective with a more distant subject and create a single subject!
