Discover the contemporary work of Valérie Page
Born in France near Versailles to a French father and an Italian mother, the two cultures have always been close. present in my life. Since I was little, I have been passionate about drawing and painting.
My artistic journey began in an illustration school in Paris Paris where I acquired the classic techniques. When my years of study were over, I worked in a university. in advertising agencies for a 20th year.
Always focused on art, painting and creation, I began to work on art, painting and creation. then trained as a ceramicist. Working with materials such as earth and working with enamels allowed me to evolve my painting towards abstraction.
My portraits are àgrave; halfway between figurative and abstraction, the play of colors and materials come from my abstract work.
My painting is instinctive. Working first with the choice of colors, I place them directly on the board or my sheet of paper. Then my gestures come, I mix, I scratch, I rub and add a touch of red, black... and the picture forms itself.
Often mysterious, sometimes epic, or even evoking an abstract landscape, they bring the observer to a new perspective. live a personal experience. Everyone will have their own interpretation and will see a different representation. Listening to stories, sensations or feelings is as moving as painting. Zao Wou-Ki, William Turner and Pierre Soulages are among my sources of inspiration.
