Which encourages me to paint
The atmosphere of the place is very important to me. I need to have a connection with the landscapes I paint.
I particularly like to take a detail and isolate it from the rest to highlight it. I paint one detail more than another, because a moment of light, a shape particularly attracts my attention. I sometimes work on the same subject of a landscape in different formats and views.
I like winter landscapes, This season nature has colors and shapes that we do not see when they are loaded with leaves and fruits. I love the light and colors of this season.
I choose the format based on what I want to paint. I stretch burlap on a frame. I prepare it to receive the funds which will give the atmosphere of the canvas.
My palette is made of pigments that I mix with a binder. In the workshop, I work on from sketches taken on site.
I start a series of several paintings, then give them a chance. each as much time as they require.
The vines, the landscapes and the cabins: I render on the canvas a precise moment.
The salt pans are the memory of lights, of sensations of fullness.
The figuration of my painting attempts to render
the abstraction of an emotion.
