Discover the contemporary work of Wandgeist
I completed my basic school education in 2017 with a high school diploma and then studied media design for three years in Stuttgart. Here I developed a great interest in visual storytelling - animation and illustration. At the same time, I began to make portraits for family and friends, first with pencil on paper and later with acrylic paint on canvas.
After successfully completing my studies, I was drawn back to the fine arts and after traveling for a while, I began to do commissioned work in portrait painting.
My fascination with expressive faces continues to be at the forefront of my work. However, I like to combine this aspect with scenic representations of my "characters" to give a still life more story.
Although I prefer black and white acrylic painting, I also like to add color accents to create interesting contrasts. Apart from canvas and paper, I also use wood, cork and sometimes sheet metal as a painting surface.
