The beginning of Xaquín's work is marked by his time in the commune of Foxo. In that environment of
Freedom has an epiphany. Some rags hanging on a clothesline evoke shapes and movements to the people.
which is immediately brought to life through macrame. At this time he experiments especially with the
compositions integrated into his macramé works, but he also begins to enter the
world of surrealist painting. This type of painting becomes predominant in his compositions
since it gives much more room for experimentation.
This experimentation leads to the concept of participatory painting. The work shares
protagonism with the observer, and cannot be finished without him. It is the interpretation of the
observer, the relationship between the work and his worldview will ultimately determine the the
impact and interpretation of the work by the viewer.
Subsequently, and after two years of exploration and sale of the painting work
participatory, the artist enters a time of crisis, derived from the multiple vital changes and
his many trips and experiences in these years. This crisis leads to a very
marked, in which the artist begins to not want to capture the idea or the object, but rather what surrounds him.

objects in the world around them. This stage is called The Atmosphere of Objects
After a great stoppage in life, the covid confinement and reflection on his work, Xaquín creates again
in 2021. However, the great influence of confinement, loneliness and human fragility in the face of
illness, caused a radical change between aesthetics and meaning. The compositions of the
Participatory painting started from a worked and studied aesthetic to create a composition
much more harmonious, which evokes objects, feelings or sensations depending on the mental state /
viewer's mood. However, harmony and aesthetics stop taking center stage in the
postcovid era, to show much more crudely the ideas and emotions that transcend the
author's creations.
