Yves Ledoux, a visual artist, a painter as well as a sculptor, was born in 1959 in France.At the age of 18, spurred on by his nomadic spirit that he keeps claiming, combined to his compelling addiction to sports such as rock climbing, mountaineering, bungee jumping, hand gliding, paragliding, skiing, fun-boarding, diving and submarine fishing, he found himself on the roads around the world.On the benches of his adventurous life, he has learnt Visual Arts. In 1981 he studied sculpture with an American artist in FloridaSketchpads, charcoal, watercolors, acrylics invariably alongside sports equipment in his travel bag while he roams around.1980-1982 Travels in the United States, Mexico, Canada.1983-1984 Time of the great Himalayan raids from which he brought a dozen sketchpads and portraits.In 1985 he exhibited his work in Noumea (New Caledonia) where he was tempted to settle; too early to make such a decision, however.In 1991, Yves and his companion decide to get a 40-foot sailboat and in 1994 they casted off from Port Frejus.Feeling cosy in the wardroom of the boat, he got involved in oil painting. Then he began painting in the street, exposed on the docks, responded to invitations from various cultural and artistic services of harbors where their sailboat was anchored: Greece,Tunisia, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Canary Islands, Mauritania, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde Islands, then South America.Such flexibility, combined with his perfect knowledge of foreign languages, allow him to experience a wide range of techniques in many different places. A moment, a color, an emotion, a vision, an adventure, an encounter, as many topics of inspiration show him the way of expressing his feelings.His exhibition took place first in Palace hotels of Dakar, Salvador de Bahia, Rio de Janeiro.In 2000, in Garuga near Santos, a rich Brazilian Art lover, organized an exhibition which confirms his lifestyle: nomadism and artistic expression.From 2001 to 2006, Yves and his girlfriend settled down in Argentina for a little while, since they fell in love with this country.In the wardroom of their boat, Yves works tirelessly while sailing to Buenos Aires, Rosario, Santa fe, Parana, Mar del Plata, Ushuaia.In the meantime, a gallery of the Riviera presents the paintings in Cannes, St. Tropez, Nice and St. Raphael, as well as in Lisbon (Portugal).Eventually, in 2006, the call of the Land encourages them to join the magical landscape of the Southern Alps for half of the year.In their sheepfold converted into a paint shop, Yves gives free rein to creativity, paints "en Grand meaning ,with no limits ,experimenting airbrush which was impossible so far. He revives sculpture passionately including metal & woodcarving.Since 2008, they've been sailing in the Pacific Ocean: Easter Island, French Polynesia, among others.In Papeete the Gallery Antipode exhibits his work and 3 years later his paintings are still welcomed in the gallery PAKALOLA of Bora Bora, proud to show his interesting paintings.2012 he is exposing on the french riviera
