Discover the contemporary work of Chloé YZOARD

I was born in Charleville-Mezieres, in 1981. Eager for change, I pursued my upper education in environmental sciences in London. Autodidact painter, I attended several drawing classes at the Instituto Superior de Arte at Havana where I lived for a long period. In constant search of artistic enrichment, I practiced my drawing skills in artistic workshops and studied classic, contemporary and Afrocuban dances for several months. I also have a five-years experience in drama As a biologist, I have a particular interest in the animal kingdom, physical adaptations and the relationships that have been built through evolution between the organisms and their environment. My objectives are both artistic and pedagogical. Indeed, I wish to share my knowledge on these amazing beings and display their incredible shape diversity, uses and colors. My colorful and detailed work is accessible to young as well as older curiosities. The paintings elaboration has been deeply influenced by years of travelling through Europe, Latin America and Africa. It focuses on the biodiversity, senses and invites visitors to observe every single detail of these know as well as unrecognizable subjects. My paintings stimulate the observation and imagination of people who are willing to play the game of guessing who all these shapes and organs belong to.
