From the series Automatic Still Lifes I. "Automatic": That which is done without thinking or involuntarily. Automatic Still Lifes .I aims to free me from myself and my constrictions. Both from one's own judgment and from the expectations of others. Intuition becomes the protagonist; ease of line and freedom of content become inexorable requirements. An ode to hedonism and “joie de vivre”. This series also seeks to put the creative process at the center, with a central commandment: think slowly, paint fast. The moments of reflection and decision are delimited compared to those of execution. This exercise seeks, in that desire to redeem myself from internal constrictions, to empower myself by validating my decisions, with which I commit until the end of each piece. This collection plays with the juxtaposition of the stillness characteristic of a still life and the dynamism implicit in an automatic movement.
