Discover the contemporary work of CLAIRE VALENTIN

   Professional painter, Claire Valentin has had the pleasure of exhibiting her paintings in the most important Watercolor Fairs in France for nine years.

This is an opportunity for her to show her work but also to supervise courses alongside the biggest names in watercolor painting.

After practicing different painting techniques, she devotes herself to watercolor for 20 years:

“ I never stop experimenting with the technique of watercolor, doing a lot of research, doing my own experiments, devoting myself to it in order to express myself better my emotions, my feelings and to pass on my knowledge by offering watercolor courses and workshops to the public. a large audience.

I like this particular technique which,  by the fusion of colors on wet paper, combines  strength and Lightness and allows  so good of  showcase light and transparency.

I paint in series, generally large formats, exploiting a theme that allows me to dream, and to escape, I try to explore express with all my sensitivity  purely imaginary universes and explore a dreamlike world.

When I started watercolor, inspired by the beauty, richness and exuberance of nature, I worked in watercolors. for several years on a theme that I entitled : “The Plant Fantasy” Little by little, female characters dressed in flowered kimonos appeared in my paintings, bringing an Asian note to my work. my watercolors. Then, in this always very colorful and dreamlike atmosphere, other characters and other themes  like that of the Venice Carnival, Undines and Distant Worlds have come to enrich my pictorial universe during the evolution of my work as a watercolorist.

From my encounter with watercolor was born a true passion, I never tire of being amazed by its side. playful and magical when the colors blend together in the water on the paper.

Inspired by the beauty, richness and exuberance of nature, my desire to paint, always stronger, is to drive water and color on paper in order to showcase light and transparency, to express my emotions and to satisfy my thirst for artistic creation.
