Le "papier" créé à l'atelier à partir de feuille de haricot offre texture et rythme. La terre blanche, le pigment rouge de Venise est peu à peu envahi d'outremer, en un jeu de clair-obscur, de tonalités chaudes et froides. Les pigment purs s'incrustent dans les reliefs, jouent des petites ombres et reflets.
