Photography

Invented by Joseph Niépce in 1826, photography is based on two types of knowledge: optics, allowing an image to be captured and delivered, and chemistry used to fix it on a surface. Its inventor died in 1833, but Louis Daguerre continued his research to discover the development of the latent image reducing exposure time. At the end of the 19th century, Eastman Kodak democratized film photography by making it possible to take many photos in less time. Photography continues to evolve with the inventions of color, film, relief photos, and digital photos, or even synthesis, etc.

What is film photography?

Film photography is a photographic technique allowing you to take photos and develop them on paper

Since the 2000s and the appearance of smartphones, this process has gradually given way to digital photography.

The term “silver” takes its name from the composition of the films used in this technique, since silver molecules are found there.

Description
"Climats" digital shooting (Nikon D800) in Bayonne (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) in 2011. "The torn poster" is an exhibition project by François Rivière, whose photographs were taken in various European countries (France, Italy, Germany, former Yugoslavia) over a period going from 1992 to 2023. The principle being not to intervene on the lacerations of the poster board, his choice of framing then takes on its full meaning, thus revealing the view he has on these urban settings. By choosing to intervene solely through the choice of framing, it is a question of isolating and showing an image that can escape everyone's gaze. So it seems essential to him, by not intervening, not to hide from the eyes of others what is already in place in the street. All his photographs are the result of a patient search for the relevant accident, an unfinished painting, an unforeseen work, fleeting and in the making.
