Artistic process :Fran et Jim offer paintings and sculptures in an intimate style.Bias: Rejection of the obscene and the anxiety, recovery of the individual and his privacy.Our approach takes against foot-art from 1970s to 1990s, voyeur or exhibitionist (Salles, Koons) because it better reflects the values of our times, more oriented towards intimacy and modesty.A comic dimension voluntary goes through works in two dimensions ; if the portrait traditional values model (faces, legs and even sexes), we prefer to glorify what has never been in art, namely the man to his toilet, feet or dairy cows.The sculptures are more dreamlike and less trivial: they describe the loneliness of those who seek a companion on a dating site, those who try to escape chain-work or the illusion of a child who believes he can escape with his oversized toys.The tables represent a sequence (series of pictures that follow in time) on a piece of life. For example, sequence around the toilet, or sequence around the awakening.Similarly, models of sculptures are represented in their daily lives (at work, surfing the Internet or simply making a nap in an armchair).Techniques used :- For tables, the technique is inspired by the display (marouflé paper on wood), enhanced with carved frames. Everything is painted in acrylic and polished.- The sculptures are made of papier-maché covered with thin layers of epoxy resin. The bodies are usually shaped with wire mesh. So far, the sense of touch was banned in the art. On the contrary we are trying to awaken this sense in covering the body with cotton wool that make it particularly pleasant handling sculptures by the visitor.The work, though drawn, is rustic: frames are from wood recovery (pallet yard), the faces of the characters are slightly wrinkled, without too reveal details, to reveal their inner world.
