Description
The first step is to find the stone. In the fields, in the forest, on the beach. It has to be bearable, a maximum of 15-20 kg. Then the work begins on the trestle. I work by hand with a hammer and chisel. The stone is exposed, the patina, the dilapidated areas and the inclusions of moisture are removed. This creates the shape. The stone becomes visible. It often changes colour. The brown of the patina, for example, gives way to red, the actual colour of the stone. Its beauty comes to light. The work touches on the past, present and future. The stone is placed slightly raised on felt inside.
