Scientific studies. Teaching.

Discovery of Mark Tobey's symbolic abstraction and/or abstract expressionism, Jackson Pollock's dripping technique, and body painting (rather the type of use Yves Klein made of it).

Additional artistic studies (late in life...)

Pronounced taste for the unusual (like the Sollers couple).

First attempts that triggered Encouragement from art lovers.

Desire to explore new avenues such as hot wax painting on the human body.

Artistic approach

Joss practices dripping, a technique dear to Jackson Pollock. But she combines it with body painting. In other words, she paints directly onto the body, that is, on the skin itself.

Rather than using traditional paints, she prefers hot wax, which she projects onto her support/model. Naturally, the model reacts to each brushstroke, in this case, each jet of wax.

At the end of each session, Joss takes photos of her support/model and applies an appropriate photographic treatment (but guaranteed to be AI-free so as not to alter the creative process) allows him to give them an authentically pictorial rendering combined with Fine Art printing on numbered and signed proofs.

In his creations, Joss never seeks to create the slightest identifiable figure, to bring out the slightest recognizable sign of a human form or face. These are the result of the profound interaction between Joss's gesture and the reactions of the support/model.

Some compositions are teeming with immediately recognizable pareidolia, while others require a long, drawn-out exploration.

Each viewer can choose the work that will fascinate them most over the years.
