Description
Yesterday, an instrument of oppression imposing an artificial "S" silhouette, the corset limited women's movements and symbolized male domination. Today, an object of self-affirmation and freedom of expression, it becomes a symbol of power and emancipation. Beyond its historical and symbolic dimension, the corset invites us to reflect on the notions of beauty, gender and independence. It reminds us that true beauty is not limited to external appearance, but lies in the affirmation of being in agreement with oneself. The plaster cast of a mannequin bust recalls the constraints of society. Basketry, an ancestral art of weaving natural fibers, echoes nature and the wild.
