With this work, I wanted to represent the raw emotion, energy and light that emanates from femininity. This woman’s face, with closed eyes and bold lips, expresses a liberation. I used dynamic brushstrokes and bright colours – blue, yellow, pink – to translate this explosion of life. The curly locks, worked with an almost abstract touch, add movement and texture to the composition. Through this painting, I wanted to celebrate the bold beauty of women.
