Norman painter from Le Havre  Patrick Briere starts at paint with 12 years old, gouache, oil and ink are his tools. His hometown is  a source of inspiration, he found the Norman skies so painted by the Impressionists. The discovery of the works of Van Gogh and Vlaminck will change his perception of the interpretation of the landscape.
Drawing has always occupied everyone’s attention. his hobbies and since 2008 he has devoted himself completely to; the painting . After practicing watercolor according to the teaching of Jean-Louis Morelle, He has  rediscovered, around ten years ago, the oil under the aegis of by Philippe Leroux. At the Le Havre fine arts school, he practices life drawing.

His painting is a colorful vision of the world around him. Color and light are an important part of a person's identity. of his painting., in a permanent search for synthetic and colorful construction, a desire to transmission of emotions. His path tends towards move towards the simplification of forms,  towards the limits of abstraction, in  a harmony of almost Fauvist inspiration.  He favors oil over large formats without abandoning watercolor which he uses for small, very spontaneous formats. He also likes scenes of urban life, always colorful, evoking a fleeting moment.

 In constant research, his painting is not fixed. Harmony is a constant basis for work. The important thing is not the subject but the emotion transmitted by the artist.

Although he exhibits mainly in his region, he is recognized nationally, in Europe and in the United States
