Mixed media includes all works of art that incorporate a variety of materials and components in a single piece. Mixed media art is a work of art that combines acrylic paint with fabric and paper. Scrapbooking, sketchbooks, decoupage, greeting card design, and mixed media art journals are just a few examples of projects in which mixed media can be used. This artistic style dates back to the cubist creations of Pablo Picasso from 1912 to 1914, the root of the term itself, in its aesthetic sense, goes back to the artist Jean Dubuffet in the 1950s.

Description
From a very young age, I was captivated by the stories of children's versions of Victor Hugo's Les Miserables. Deeply moved by the excruciating ordeals endured by Cosette at the hands of the Thénardiers, I was inspired to create a work that reveals her inner feelings. This painting is the reflection of a world, an expressionist interpretation of the solitude and melancholy that inhabit it. The determined brushstrokes and twilight hues speak of the austere life Cosette endured, an existence marked by abandonment and neglect. Even today, many children around the world share Cosette's fate, living in deplorable conditions. This creation is a poignant reminder that their struggle is far from an echo of the past, but a current reality that calls for compassion and action.
