Description
Through a selection of more than twenty works, the artist invites us into his most intimate reflection, through an introspective and chronological journey, led by this Arab proverb commonly used in Algeria and translating this deeply cultural sensitivity to with regard to things of the past, “Li Fet Met”: what is past is dead. Guided by the poetry of this Arabic proverb which resonates like resilience, the artist decides to reveal to us her tumultuous relationship with time, where the past manifests itself as a persistent weight, an elusive shadow of the present, illuminating the vicissitudes of memory and of personal evolution. Images and texts mingle and interweave through collage techniques juxtaposed with poems; poems that the artist herself defines as her own “textual transcription of the intimate.”
