Description
Valérie Abadie was living in Spain, in the heights of Marbella, when she made this drawing. She regularly went on foot to walk her dogs and took a path called "Camino de la cueva santa" (path to the holy cave). This path led them to a half-dry stream, lined with huge stones and amazing vegetation. After walking under the sun, this place was like a gift from the gods, a little paradise. While his dogs bathed and let off steam in the water, the artist immersed himself in the surroundings, observing the flow of water, the cascade of stones, the flowering plants full of life in this environment which was nevertheless so arid. Everything seemed unreal in this place which contained within it something magical. Going back towards her house, she passed again, past the cactus, the dead tree above the void and the imposing succulent plants which all seemed to greet her on his passage, as if they were people.
