Artistic approach

PRESENTATION
I was born in Toulouse, a city in the southwest of France, 60 years ago. From the age of 3 or 5, I wanted to become an artist, ... write, sculpt, paint, act, sing, play the piano, the guitar and be on stage... I didn't I didn't come from a family of artists and I became a civil servant, a doctor of law and a graduate in psychoanalysis. I have lived and worked in Paris since 1993. My dream has never left me and since my cancer in 2008, I have made sure to devote as much time as possible to art: not only painting, sculpture, photography, video, but also singing lessons, theater lessons, playing the piano or guitar, composing in improvisation and writing. This desire was strengthened in 2015 after an inflammation of the spinal cord (caused by extreme professional harassment) and the first desire: to be a sculptor.
Since I was 12, psychoanalysis has also been essential to my being (even if I only engaged in analytical therapy at the age of 34 in Paris, just like the sport I practice (I practiced) with passion. I am thinking of becoming a psychoanalyst.
I hope to have many artistic achievements before I die, and to love, of course.
I cannot envisage my life as an artist in my last part of life as a young woman, I would have done it.

My work as an artist:
Paintings and sculptures - I work in a composite way with a strong axis which is essentially: either watercolor, or natural pigments, or charcoal and Indian ink, or pastels. Each serving or able to serve in turn as support to others, who would then be strong axes. I work on canvas and also develop work on handmade paper which cannot fail, the line is unique and rapid as well as instantaneous.
The themes are mainly: nature and animals, theatrical performances and great texts and poems, bodies, my region and differences, Paris, Île de Ré, the Basque country, the Catalan country..... the illustrations of my tale, feminine metamorphoses and genius.

Spirituality is present both in my painting from the angles of description and representation that I choose, and in my sculpture through the use of smooth raw clay like a pigmented and bound creation of a Golem .... Now, I work with incense in liquid form for coloring and finishing.

Creation is the global and central question of my work. Creation and its source; and I sign my paternal name but also my mother’s maiden name.

I look at the source, including the unconscious, and Belza meaning black or dark in Basque, I also work with black.
This black is not that of Pierre Soulages. He gropes in the shadows for an impossible figurative yet existing behind absorbed objects rendered differently in the light by the final work, as if emerging from a black hole.

My latest research consists of avoiding petroleum-based products and any plastic resin and spiritualizing my works through the use of liquid incense and colored incense as well as raw natural pigments.
I invite you to visit my page Valerie Fontanier Belza arts on Facebook to watch the photos, videos, Making etc. VFB.

Writings: My writing expresses who I am, a highly sensitive high potential who has composed his entire life with 98% of those around him. What this means would take too long to express but is expressed in my artistic creations by my feminine specificity.

I go outside the box by nature and the manuscripts proposed for publication show it.

AND WHAT ELSE?
I am in recovery, I have been on sick leave since June 3, 2020 following a double fracture (and complications afterwards and new pathologies) and I have been recognized on long-term leave since only February 2, 2023 for three years which leave from May 18, 2020 (!); and since June 1, 2023 I have been extended for a one-year extension but for the moment half-pay (1300 euros which does not constitute half-pay and do not allow me to live and have my care).
I am coming out all the more tested from this long fight (I had Covid and I was vaccinated with COVID) as I am still not fully paid for a suspension of 22 months of salary and I am seeking legal compensation. I notably lost part of my hearing in January 2022 in one night due to this stress (hydrops).
OBJECTIVES
Obtain from the State an early retirement at full rate at the functional grade (ENA civil administrator) due to DGFiP harassment and reprisals and obtain recognition of moral harassment and reprisals and compensation allowing me a new real estate purchase (workshop d’artist) after cancer, myelitis, sound shock, Covid, a double fracture(...)
My possibilities of lucrative activities outside of work stoppage of which none except art and the authorization of doctors: Lecturer in faculty,
Business school...

Above all, artistic activities are free: publishing contract, illustration contract, exhibition, set, filming, singing, comedy

Being able to remobilize my body without its current limits and progress is daily
Not experiencing a recurrence of cancer

VALERIE FONTANIER BELZA VFB exposes herself like the high-pitched pineapple

Is feminine creation more than naturalist because its possibilities of representation and its desire to represent transcend gender?

I love all the female artists who know or pretend to ignore that their line, their creation, are linked to their bodies while affirming it above all: Louise Bourgeois, Niki Saint Phalle, Camille Claudel, Suzanne Valandon, ...< /p>

I also like Chagall, Giacometti, Matisse, Bernard Buffet and Jean Cocteau and Picasso who would naturally be universally human.

The actor Fabrice Luchini, and his work on stage, is a great inspiration for my work and I consider that some of my works are his, gifts from the artist, his private collection.

My sculptures are the work of raw clay which confronts in an ontological way the limits of human creation. Clay, as expressed in the spiritual myth of golems, represents the divine creation of man. What other medium for a human creation of genius, the divine, etc.?

The decision is taken that human breath cannot be extinguished by the fire that freezes it. The breath dries the clay and my hand binds it with bas-relief substances or varnishes, sprays and pigments. Above all, water-based and natural products are favored, no violent products, no plastic resin, no white spirit, water is preferred with charcoal, Indian ink, pastel, pigments and acrylic or oil paint (to emphasize sometimes).

My objective is to improve these binders towards a completely natural solution which integrates with the clay to consolidate it without modifying it. This year I am coming to the use of algae and incense resin.

Each representation, each creation, each “Golem” is treated differently with work in imbalance and ruptures. Gold leaf is sometimes present. And lead becomes gold, through the interpretation of its nature, which nevertheless does not change. The alchemist sings with his voice, with his hands, with his mind, the author laughs: “A king sang below, a God died above” (Booz Victor Hugo)

Belza means “black” gold “dark” in Basque, and I also work with black as a source to reach at the same time the source of the fountain maker. It is a black “pleonasmic” Belza, a center of the pleonasmic world in reference to Dali.

It is painting or sculpture or dimensional painting.

This black is not that of Pierre Soulages.

He gives shape in the shadows to an impossible figurative yet existing behind objects absorbed then brought to light by the final work in another form as if emerging from a black hole.
