"My paintings and drawings are narrative settings, a dazzling journey. Dance, cinema, the world of spectacle are their bodies, their materials and the love of detail is their reading paths. Each work tells a story and reveals a feeling.

Narrative paintings - The Artist's line since 2014

French-Tunisian visual artist born in à Tunis in 1974, lives and works in Paris. He integrated the Higher Institute of Fine Arts of Tunis from 1994 to 1998 (Master's degree in Arts Sciences and Techniques) then he followed a course at l’cole Céapole (Certificate of specialization in visual communication)  Paris from which he will graduate in visual communication in 2000. He obtained a Master MEEF1 (Professions in Teaching, Education and Second Degree Training) in Plastic Arts at the University of Paris. university Paris 8 in 2015.

In his work, Walid LEMKECHER composes a personal universe which takes its source in the world of classical dance, spectacle, cinema and countries such as Russia, India and his own oriental origins.< /p>

The theme of classical ballet is dear to me. the artist is his passion. This art that he practiced for more than fifteen years and which constitutes a source of inspiration for him. We find it in his paintings; the costume and the voluptuous work of fabrics and patterns and embroidery, the sparkling crystals of Swarovski stones), the lush settings of classical ballets from which he continually draws inspiration. Each canvas is a staging, a visual spectacle that the artist offers us. see. Walid LEMKECHER composes his canvas like a choreographer. Each element is carefully chosen with attention to detail. In his productions, Walid LEMKECHER sublimates the woman and her femininity, whether she is a dancer, actress, or muse, she is at ease. both sensuality and and strength, beauty mysterious or melancholic seductress who exercises her power of fascination in the face of its spectators. Walid LEMKECHER's wife has a certain psychological depth. His works are treated with theatricality. and offers itself to the gaze of the spectator.

In his creative process, the artist integrates video to highlight his paintings, he puts himself on stage in choreographed presentations They thus create a whole coherent system. The intensity The drama of the scenes is accentuated by the light/shadow dichotomy while the architectural elements create an emotional charge which transports the viewer through a spectacular visual effect. Thanks to a repetitive mechanics of the hand gesture which is however never the same in its intensity, the artist plays with the pressure exerted on the paper support through the medium of his pencil to approach values ​​and nuances from the lightest to the darkest; thus giving to his designs have a delicate and refined appearance. with great regularity which take us back through their plastic effects to the engravings of the 18th and 19th centuries.

Abstraction 2005 - 2013

Through vertical lines, by an accumulation of repeated patterns, small squares and rectangles reminiscent of the pile of houses in a vibrant medina and a warm chromatic palette With golden and silver reflections, the artist illustrates the opulence of an Orient, that of our imagination.
