Burlap, It was by chance that in 2000 I discovered Burlap. This material immediately fascinated me, by its power and its particular smell, perhaps also because it comes from the earth and that it has greatly participated in the work of men, that of the humble as well as that of the genius. I also use this support stretched on a frame. Crumpled, its folds and its weft hypnotize me, then little by little I discover silhouettes, shapes, which take shape. I then begin to lay down the color, My color... as if musical notes were flowing from these shapes, where the canvas would have planned its own orchestration. I fix my colors on these imaginary staves. The result obtained is each time surprising. Imagine a score that could be read from left to right as well as from bottom to top... and vice versa. A Canvas is only limited by its edges... and its dimensions are displayed... instinctively!
