Description
The artist, for whom light remains an essential agent, revealing forms on the surface of the painting, shares with Pierre Soulages the essential role given to black, although he is evolving towards a more diversified use of color. In his painting, under the influence of light, the generous black surfaces, punctuated by often spiral textures, reflect nuances, giving certain paintings a mysterious depth that brings to the surface the thought of infinity. Against these black backgrounds, areas of color added in harmony with the spiral form evoke the captivating aspect of galaxies in several of his paintings.
